BIKE: Whoops -- bike rally tomorrow

I almost forgot I promised Tommy Eden I would post this on the bikes list!!!

Tomorrow, CAMPO is going to decide whether to keep the 15% of STP 4C funds
it now reserves for bike and ped stuff. The rapacious highway lobby is trying to 
snag the bike's share -- because the deadly economics of sprawl assure that without
sound rational land use planning, you get farther and farther behind in trying to build 
and maintain enough roads to keep Walmart and lots of real estate developers 
profitable. Cars and bikes are locked in struggle on this issue that is coming up for 
a hearing and a vote some time after 6 pm inside the Thompson center. Anyone can 
speak.

Anyhow at 5 PM a bunch of bike advocates with gather outside the JC Thompson 
Center for a pro-bike pep rally (at the northmost part of LBJ complex, just east of the UT 
law school and west of Red River, just before the CAMPO meeting inside). -- Roger
