Mike,

How are you sure helmets are required?  The bicycle sports shop 
(co-sponsor) web pages doesn't say so.  The word 'helmet' doesn't show 
up very many times in austincycling.org, except on their membership 
application, but that shouldn't bind me if I haven't signed it.
