To be fair, the DA is prosecuting the guy -- just not for for the felony that he committed, but instead for some misdemeanors. They do plea bargains like that all the time, but they don't normally flat out say "we're not doing it because he'd lose his job" ...

It's still frickin' BS, mind you, but not quite as bad as you made it sound.

That guy better get a massive civil settlement ... though I guess we'll never know.

Colorado DA decides it won't prosecute rich guy who nearly killed a cyclist "because it could jeopardize his job."
