- It's coming up this Saturday!  It will be at Fiesta Gardens (around the Southern tip of Comal St.), and the schedule is as follows:

9:00 a.m. -  Bike Parade Registration 
10:00 a.m. -  Bike Parade
11:00 a.m. -  Performances Begin
1:30 p.m. -  "Carpocalypse Now" – Funeral procession for the car belonging to the Car-for-Bike Trade volunteer
3:30 p.m. -  Car-for-Bike Trade Celebration
4:00 p.m. -  Curtain Closes

- All your purchases (including beer) will benefit local bike non-profits Austin Cycling Association, Yellow Bike Project, and Austin Ridge Riders.  Bring a little spending cash, and don't feel guilty for treating yourself to some goodies.  Keep in mind, though: this is a bike-fest with beer, not a beer-fest with bikes! 

- Trade your car for a bike (http://www.newbelgium.com/videos#107):  One volunteer will sign over their car title and receive a hand-built Black Sheep (http://www.blacksheepbikes.com/) commuter bike in exchange. The volunteer is chosen after submitting a video or essay describing their desire to live car-free for a year.  For more information, log on to http://www.newbelgium.com/tour-de-fat.  "The car-for-bike swap is what gives Tour de Fat its deeper meaning as people make a life-changing commitment," said New Belgium SpokesPerson Bryan Simpson. "Anyone is welcome to be a swapper - whether you're an avid cyclist or just starting to rekindle your love for the bike.  We can't wait to meet more good people willing to forgo four wheels for two."  We are still seeking a car-for-bike swapper in Austin!

- Tune up your party bike.  Throw on a silly costume. 

- Be a reserve volunteer to cover in case of no-shows.  Email dahlberg.pete@gmail.com with your phone number and availability to get on the list.  At the event, please show appreciation for the volunteers who make it all possible.
