The World Naked Bike Ride starts at Adams-Hemphill Neighborhood Park at 201 W 30th Street (note: new location from past years!) and riders start massing at 8pm and wheels down at 9pm.

The Full Moon Cruise starts at the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge and we start assembling at perhaps 11:15pm and wheel down at about 11:45pm (don't be later than this.)

UPDATE as of May 9: We wil have some great guest speakers starting at 7 pm: a cyclist attorney, a safe cycling advocate, a family member of a hit and run victim, and an Austin City Councilmember. Also, some giveaways. We ride rain or shine. Let's turn out in large numbers, y'all!

The organizers have not made an official announcement with all the details for 2023, but it's likely that most of the details will match previous rides, so I've included what they've said about 2023 so far and then the 2022 details here. Check their Facebook group for any changes.

We're excited to announce that TDH is on for 2023 and will be taking place on Saturday, November 11th. We’re also excited to announce that @breakfastclubatx & @fctn_rcng will be returning to partner with us! Did someone say biscuits!?

Reminder that we'll be meeting tomorrow morning @ 7:00am under Mopac on Stratford Drive.

Rollout will take place @ 7:15am.

Rest stops are as follows:

Rest Stop #1: The return of the Breakfast Club Biscuits @ Terrace Mountain. This stop is at about mile 16.

Rest Stop #2: This rest stop is being provided courtesy of Weaver Technologies racing. This will be a dual rest stop located at mile markers 70 & 88. Rest stop is located at River Place & Sun Tree Cove.

The ride is fairly easy with rest stops about every 15 min. All in it takes about 2 hours. If you have any question please post them here!

(One change from the traditional route: the Randals that we used to stop at is closed and fenced off, so we'll be stopping at the closed (but not fenced off) Burger King nearby.)

If you want to help get the word out, download the flyers and print some out and put them up at your favorite bike shop, community center, bulletin board, or whatever!  Also, tell your friends, post on social media, etc.

There's also a  Facebook group, but that hadn't been updated since 2019, but now there's a recent comment that says

... so that's promising, but then again, I think we saw something similar in 2021, when the ride finally happened in October.

And for completeness, there's also Instagram and a web page. though I don't know if they're all run by the same person(s).

I'd say do message the organizers in these places and offer your services.  If there's no response after a while you could plan a ride without their involvement, but it would reach a lot of the previous riders if it could at least be advertised in the previous places, and things tend to get ugly if the previous organizers decide they don't want to pass the reins on after all.

Active Transportation Advocates of Cedar Park, Red Line Parkway Initiative, and Austin Outside invites you to an afternoon of biking through the vibrant and thriving outdoor spaces in Cedar Park including the all-new, 200+ acre Lakeline Park. This 9.5 mile loop bike tour starts at Pedego Electric Bikes in Cedar Park at 12:00noon on March 25th. Participants should plan on bringing their own bike or renting ahead from Pedego (limited bikes available). In addition to Lakeline Park, we will also tour some of the current and potential active transportation facilities in the area including: 183A Shared Use Path, Brushy Creek Regional Trail, Neighborhood Parkways/Bike Lanes, Bell District, Red Line Parkway alignment, advanced bike/ped signalization, and more! If coming by MetroRail, the first northbound Red Line train arrives at 11:09am at Lakeline Station and it is a ~6 mile ride to Pedego from there. The total distance for those departing and returning to Lakeline Station will be about 20 miles. Critical Mass is a monthly bicycle ride to celebrate cycling and to take back the streets.

(We USED to meet on the last Friday of every month (holiday or not, rain or shine) at 5:00pm (with wheels down at about 5:30pm) on the UT West Mall where it meets Guadalupe (between 22nd & 23rd Streets).

We will NOW meet at the pedestrian bridge that parallels Lamar and head out around 6:30pm -- still the last Friday of each month, however.

Participation will vary a LOT as this is a comeback from the original Critical Mass/Critical Mass in Austin. There have been as few as two riders and as many as hundreds. "Typical" was 50 or 60. Let's see if we can double the "typical" numbers from Critical Mass Austin hiatus. Costumes or dressing up and being as bright and loud as you can be is strongly encouraged.

The last Critical Mass in Austin of this kind occurred on June 26, 2015. Let's keep the spirit alive and get butts on bikes Friday nights!

editor's note: there is another ride that has recently popped up that is calling itself Critical Mass, however, it has little in common with the original Critical Mass rides beyond the name.  This ride is attempting to get back to the ride's roots and be more like the rides of "yore".
