The Bicycle Sport Shop has taken sponsorship to a new and serious level 
by sponsoring a bike racing team with a mission to promote more cycling 
and do bike advocacy. The new team called Bike Action Austin has ten 
core members. Five women and five men. The team is equipped with bikes, 
jerseys, helmets, shoes and other matching accessories. You may see 
them as you ride along loop 360 or any other popular training route in 
town, wearing bright yellow and red jerseys and shorts. Team members are 
offering cyclists around the Austin area information on cycling issues, 
helping area bike advocates accumulate a stronger voice, networking with
other teams on important political issues, helping to establish and 
promote new organized weekly group rides. Bike Action Austin is also 
helping to promote other bike programs such as junior and women's 
development and children's bike education programs, intense bike 
training programs for adults, specific bike events and special bike 
projects in the Austin Community.

Bike Action Austin is a membership organization with meetings held the 
first Thursday of every month at 7:00pm at Fran's Hamburgers on 
Congress Ave.
