Japan's DUI laws are WAY stricter than ours
Maximum fines:
REJECTING A BREATH TEST: 3 months jail, $4400
RIDING AS A PASSENGER WITH A DRUNK: 3 months jail, $4400
DUI BETWEEN 0.03 AND 0.079: 3 years, $4400
DWI 0.08 OR OVER: 5 years, $8800 (compare to Texas: 180 days / $2000)
HIT AND RUN: 10 years, $8800
